This section assumes you have already used the Database Utility to create a suitable Auto Text file. See Using the Database Utility for details.
By default the Database Utility adds a bar code item to the end of the other items. If the original text file contained 3 items per label, the bar code will be item 4 in the resulting Auto Text file.
You can print the bar code using &4 in your design.
When you use the Auto Text file, bar codes are printed when you use a bar code font to print the bar code field.
Each type of bar code is printed using a specific font. See section Bar code font name and font size to use for full details of which font to select in your application.
TrueType bar code fonts are installed on your system as part of the installation process. See section Installing TrueType bar code fonts in Windows for full details.
