|DATA: Numeric||LENGTH: Fixed||CHECK: Required|
There are two basic EAN bar code types; EAN-8 encodes 8 digits (7 data and 1 check character) and EAN-13 encodes 13 digits (12 data digits and 1 check character). Our JIT series of products can automatically add correct check digits to your bar codes.
Our JIT series of software products can also produce truncated height EAN bar codes.
If you need free help or advice about using this type of barcode, please email;

Optional 2 or 5 digit supplemental codes can be added to EAN-8 and EAN-13 bar codes. The supplemental digits come after the check character, if you specify one.
If you are using 2 or 5 digit supplemental codes and you want the check character to be calculated, leave out the check character. For example, to encode the EAN-8 number 1234567 with a 5 digit supplemental code of 99999, you would encode 123456799999.
